How sampling worksHow custom judo uniforms are made
Gis and doboks are woven-cotton garments built to survive gripping and pulling, with reinforced collars and stress points.
Specification
Weave, fabric weight, colour, sizes, collar type and patch and embroidery positions are agreed in writing.
Fabric and pre-shrinking
The jacket fabric (for example pearl, gold, single or double weave) and trouser fabric are chosen and pre-shrunk to limit shrinkage after washing.
Cutting
Jackets and trousers are cut to the size chart.
Collar and reinforcement
The collar is built and filled (foam or rubber for BJJ), and stress points such as armpits, knees and the jacket skirt are reinforced.
Patches and embroidery
Club names, logos and patches are embroidered or sewn on.
Size check and packing
Finished uniforms are measured against the size chart, checked against the sample and folded, optionally in a gi bag.

Custom judo uniforms: questions buyers ask
Can you make competition-approved judogi?
Competition approval is issued for specific models by the federation. We will not call a judogi approved unless that model holds the approval. Training uniforms do not need it.
How are custom judo uniforms made?
Gis and doboks are woven-cotton garments built to survive gripping and pulling, with reinforced collars and stress points. The main steps are: specification, fabric and pre-shrinking, cutting, collar and reinforcement, patches and embroidery, size check and packing. Every new design is made as a sample and approved by you before bulk production.
What is the minimum order for custom judo uniforms?
It depends on the material, the decoration method and how many colours and sizes you need. Enter your quantities per size in the quote form and the minimum for your judo uniforms specification is confirmed in your written quote.
How long does it take to make custom judo uniforms?
Production starts after you approve a sample. The lead time depends on quantity, material and the time of year, and is stated in your written quote before you commit.
Can I get a sample of custom judo uniforms before ordering?
Yes. A sample is made to your specification and approved by you before bulk production. Sample cost and timing are set out in your quote.
